"Use this checklist to help you write a beginner-friendly student paper in seventh edition APA Style, consisting of a title page, text, and reference list...Links in this checklist lead to free resources on the APA Style website. For
questions about specific assignment guidelines, check with your instructor."
See page 3 especially: In-Text Citations, References--this is usually where students have the most questions when they are writing and citing!
The Writing and Tutoring Center also has students peer tutors to help and they specialize in citations!
Cite Originally: see the APA Guidelines--cite anything that is not your original thought ("Avoid plagiarism by citing the words and ideas of others.")
Cite Ethically: give credit where credit is due (just as you, as a researcher, would want).
Cite Effectively: use the Style Guidelines for APA (or other styles) so others can find your sources
Being able to cite correctly is also a signal that you know what you're doing!
