Tips for Making Effective PowerPoint Presentations

  • Use consistent and simple design template.
  • Limit the number of words on each screen.
  • Empty space will enhance readability.
  • Avoid flashy transitions (text fly-ins).
  • Ensure images maintain resolution when projected.
  • Rule of thumb: no more than one slide per minute.
  • Practice.
  • Aim for font of no smaller than 24.
  • Paraphrase slides when presenting.
